Cooking has been an amazing journey so far. Cookery is really an everyday learning and perfecting to the final touch. My style are mostly asian because I love eating Asian food. I craze for Asian food like beef noodle, char kwak teow, homemade noodle, steamboat, chilli, bao, steam egg, chilli, soup, anything everything that reminds me of home and mommy's cooking.
I never really stepped into kitchen until I moved in with EY. I treasure the ownership of the little kitchen space and secretly calls it my creation corner. Cooking also bonds us together. EY is a super homie person; he loves quiet dinners with conversations, talking about our lives and anything regarding our love. Haha..it's true. That's the exact wording he used all the time when I faced the choice of eating quietly with conversation or with TV on... :) That's why I love this husband so much because he treasures moment like that together and me too, loves the sentimental part of the relationship. The other reason is because we both have been ta-bao kid for the longest time and if we want to start life together, we want to improve the quality of living by eating healthy!
So, cooking in the initial phase were mainly based my memories of how my mommy used to fry her Kai Lan in hot wok, garlic, oyster sauce. That's it. That simple. Then of cos, we can't just only have Kailan right...so, my recipe collection has to increase! And so, I started with the first recipe book, 'Cook with JAMIE'. It is by far my most used, most delicious 'Ang Moh Jiak' cooking that I've ever made. It is the only book i refer besides GOOGLE and I heart this man. He has no air (in my personal opinion) and always dare to try new things in his cooking. Add a little lemon, add some thymes, dash of vinegar... It is dangerous to be out of bound in cooking and at the same time you will make incredible discovery about being risky!
So, to many cooking nights to come and recipe discovery.
Originally a birthday present for EY and ended up, I was the sole user of the book. It was as if, I bought the book for myself... oh LIFE!

when a gift arrives... take it with gratitude, because it is the greatest joy for he who is the giver
